BRIAN BILLOW DIRECTS A FAMILY OF CHANGE-AVERSE HOLDOVERS IN NEW CAMPAIGN FROM CHAMPION ENERGY AND PROOF ADVERTISING

Some things never change, especially for the Holdover family. But a new campaign from Champion Energy Solutions directed by acclaimed comedic talent, Brian Billow, of L.A. production company O Positive is looking to remedy that—one rotary phone cord at a time.
“It’s Time for Some New Energy” is the first work to launch from Champion Energy under its new partnership with Austin agency Proof Advertising, which has been appointed the company’s creative and media agency of record following a competitive review for the business. The campaign looks to reach Texans who don’t typically think of switching energy providers by featuring the aptly named Holdover family who proudly declare themselves set in their ways, much to the chagrin of their two young children. They demonstrate this by showing off everything from VHS tape collection to the rabbit-ear antenna on their ancient TV set, all while acknowledging that aversion to change sometimes leads them to spend too much on their energy bill each month. Viewers are encouraged not to be like the Holdovers, and to switch and save with Champion Energy Solutions.

“We asked Proof to create a compelling message through a high-quality and comedic platform, and they have delivered. We’re excited to introduce Texas to the Holdover family for a light-hearted and memorable way to offer electricity savings still matched with quality service,” expressed John Ballenger, Champion Energy’s VP, Marketing Operations.
The campaign is launching throughout the Dallas and Houston markets on local cable, connected TV, OOH, digital and social and will run throughout the summer.
