Pepsi and Pitch

By thelaegotist / / Pepsi’s new campaign for its new 1893 soda was created by roster agency Pitch, which beat out other roster agencies for the launch ad. Directed by O-Positive’s Brian Billow, the spot stars a “soda sommelier” played by actor Jeff Galfer (Love and Mercy, Buried Treasure). The campaign communicates that 1893 is a new flavor that will make consumers think of the brand in a whole new way. An homage to the year in which Pepsi was first invented by company founder Caleb Bradham, 1893 is a premium artisanal drink with a bold, unexpected taste based on simple ingredients yet complex flavors of the past. The cola is made from kola nut extract, real sugar and sparkling water, with a touch of aromatic bitters. A ginger cola version includes real ginger. In addition to a national TV spot and five online videos that will roll out over the first weeks of April, the creative team at Pitch has crafted highly original radio spots, digital work and experiential executions.
