Summary: The primary responsibility of the project manager is to manage client campaigns through the project lifecycle, including but not limited to initiating scoping and project plans, creating estimates, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring consistent communications within client services teams. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

Core Expectations and Responsibilities

The project manager is evaluated annually on success in meeting the following core expectations:
• Manage client projects to ensure they are high quality, on time and on budget
• Act as liaison between the agency’s internal teams
• Keeps work flowing past bottlenecks
• Monitor project budgets and schedules daily
• Work with project teams to create proposal schedules, timelines and budget estimates
• Ensure that projects stay within scope and manage project change orders
• Interface with clients, as needed

Core Requirements
• College degree and/or comparable professional experience
• Minimum of five years of project management experience in a public relations or advertising agency including experience with project management software platforms
• Knowledge of Workamajig® project management software platform not required but a plus
• Proficiency in MS Office® suite
• Ability to serve as direct client contact
• Ability to lead internal project teams
• Professional demeanor, ability to serve as a confident representative of the firm with a variety of stakeholders, clients and community members

Principal Tasks
The following represent some of the principal tasks expected of a SE2 Project Manager:
Project management
• Ensure that scopes of work and budgets are approved before project work commences
• Establish projects in project management system, including set up of client records and project architecture
• Allocate internal and external resources for approved projects
• Finalize and confirm project schedules and flesh out key deadlines for each project step
• Monitor project management system daily, including expenditures of budgeted hours and expenses
• Interface with various departments on a daily basis
• Coordinate project timing and budgets with internal team, alerting them when projects reach key benchmarks
• Generate, disseminate and update status reports
• Inform project team and approve all deviations from approved budget and schedules
• Manage all approved project change orders and create relevant documentation
• Participate in weekly client team meetings
• Facilitate post-mortem analysis at the conclusion of each project

Client relations
• Keep account team informed of issues that would impact client relationships
• Help account team to gather all necessary files, documents and resources from client
• Provide back-up client communication when account team is unavailable
• Interface with client as needed

• Follow SE2 office protocols for work hours, start times and notification procedures for absences from the office
• Comply with all SE2 policies, pratices and procedures
• Other dutires as assigned
